Just a few days after the launch of the eNaira, there has been a lot of comments from Nigerians highlighting their experiences while using the eNaira wallet.
For all intent and purposes, the digital currency introduction seems to be a very good one both for the Nigerian economy and also for cryptocurrency adaption in Nigeria. The Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) although not a cryptocurrency asset is still a digital currency which means that there is a high possibility of the eNaira would make cryptocurrency dealing in Nigeria easier.
As of the time of writing the number of persons who have already downloaded the application on their devices is already more than 100,000 and this is just two days after the launch of the Digital currency, which means Nigerians are also very intrigued by this groundbreaking innovation.
Therefore I think the IT company in charge of managing the software application used in accessing the Digital Currency ‘eNaira’ should pay heed to some of the complaints made by the intending users who have already downloaded the wallets and are eager to start using the digital currency, so as not to discourage the Nigerian populace.
Highlighting one of the major challenges faced by some Nigerians citing ‘Treasure Prince‘ suggestions in the first screenshot, the automated email access that the system initiates from the BVN details should be allowed to be manually inputted as a lot of Nigerians did not do their BVN registration using their emails as it was not compulsory to do that as at the time of the registration exercise. This would allow for smooth registration of intending users.
A lot more needs to be done concerning the software application so as to allow Nigerians to enjoy a smooth and seamless service as the eNaira presents a lot of opportunities which shows that Nigeria is a leading force in Africa when it comes to Technological innovations.
